About the author
I'm Johnnie Sanders, a native of Birmingham, Alabama. I attended Knoxville College and Jacksonville State University. After college I travelled the states until deciding to make Los Angeles my second home. I'm a father of four, I'm silly, I'm goofy, and I'm a decent man; regarding what's considered decent. And I'm average everything else, but smart enough to be perfectly fine with myself. My family, friends, fratbrothers (KAPPA ALPHA PSI), and acquaintances have dominated my life both for the good and bad, but still a strong support system. Being from the south and was raised next door to a church and the fact from the time I can remember, there were never less than three generations under my grandmother's roof; so spirituality and devilment played a huge part in my life, and are major factors in developing my plots and characters. The attributes of my characters are drawn from real life people; the good, the bad, the dumb, the evil, the freakiness and the compassionate. I've lived both walks of life; a legitimate store owner and as the high volume street merchant. My decisions have been costly. I know the full circle of society and I portray the different degrees of living within my plots and characters. Writing is a means to reflect not only on my experiences but also others' and events. So I write fiction that mirrors real life situations, incorporating timeless social issues, the battles between spirituality and religion, undesirable alternative incomes versus morality, sacrifice and happiness, old generations being afraid of what's new while new generations so misguided by anger towards the old, repeat mistakes, law without order, the hardships and triumphs of life -- subject matters to most, and most will be able to relate to my subjects in some form.
