About the author

Lynn Seta became inspired to write children's books after raising four children and caring for her seven grandchildren. Lynn gets many story ideas while caring for these seven grandchildren who often want her to sing made up songs and make music with pots and pans, all while dancing with the mop. She takes great pride in her ability to teach and keep their attention through creative activities like refrigerator school and blanket house. Lynn believes her writing can capture a child's imagination and encourage families to communicate through reading. Lynn worked at a Special Education and Treatment Center for children for six years and was the director of a children's ministry for thirteen years.

Patrick's Purpose
A Hummingbird's Journey
by Lynn Seta

Overview

Hummingbirds are fascinating little birds.  When first seen, we sometimes think they're big insects.  But no!  They are part of the pollinating work force in our world.  They pollinate with their long bills, eat insects, and generally add a 'wonder' aspect to our day, if we happened to see one.  This children's story is about a species of hummingbird called Rufous.  A fiesty little thing, these birds travel far north in their migration each year.  Rufous hummingbirds have a purpose.  I hope you'll choose to read Patrick's story to your young person.  Be sure and reinforce that, big or small, we all have a purpose!
