Growing up

I was born and raised in upstate Marlboro, New York. As a kid that loved to color, paint and draw. I always  knew I wanted to be an artist. It was something that came natural to me. I have two siblings who I grew up with whom spent countless days at the beach and near the water. I also grew up with lots of pets who I loved and were just like my other siblings.

I went to school at SUNY PURCHASE COLLEGE in Purchase NY and decided I wanted to be a graphic designer. One summer I did an internship as a Camp Art teacher and fell in love with teaching art.  Soon after graduating from college with a BFA.  I landed a job at a Non Profit Organization in Bedford NY. I was hired as a art teacher and I also was doing After-school art programs at various schools in New York. I then left my job and went traveling the world with my soon to be amazing husband.

As a Grown Up
I got married after traveling around the world and the US and finally settled in New Jersey with my two amazing little boys Matthew and Andrew.

Fulfilling a dream
I always wanted to write and illustrate a children’s book before my children were born. This wasn’t affordable and not as easy as is today. One day a friend posted on social media that she had published a book and that’s when it set me off. I knew that I was more then capable of writing and illustrating a book. So what was the hold up.

The summer of 2017 my family spent most of the summer at the beach and I began think about my first book. Watching my children play at the beach helped to inspirer my first illustrations of my book  Ollie and now I started a new chapter in my life as a children’s books author and illustrator.

Ollie by Krista Scott My sister's nickname is Ollie so buying this book seemed appropriate. It is wonderful! The story is delightful and engaging . The artwork is vibrant and playful. I ordered seven copies to begin and then ordered seven more. I keep thinking of more people that I want to present with books. It is great news that more stories will follow. Read more
