Odallus is a 2015 exploration indie platformer game set in a dark fantasy world, praised for its tight gameplay and exquisite graphics. This book not only spotlights this art but also follows the authors reasoning behind gameplay and story, while exploring further the game world, its beliefs and history. The old gods have forgotten this land. No one could save our people when darkness started spreading and collecting human souls for its army. Odallus is a classic exploration/action game, inspired by Ghosts’n Goblins, Demon’s Crest and Castlevania. The player takes place of Haggis, a warrior tired of fighting who must wield his sword once more to rescue his son from Darkness. 

Thais co-founded JoyMasher along with Danilo Dias, worked on Oniken, Odallus,Finding Monters and Rainy Day and holds an M.Sc. degree on Game Design from Universidade de Sao Paulo. She teaches Game Design on PUCPR and tries to make games that matter. Thais was the main writer behind Odallus and the main writter in this compendium.
