Mary Beth Modic, DNP, APRN, CNS, CDE is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Modic’s work is concentrated on providing comprehensive diabetes care and promoting the use of empathy in communication with patients and colleagues. She has authored over 50 articles and is an internationally recognized nursing researcher and leader.

Christina M. Canfield, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC, CCRN-E is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and ICU Telemedicine Program Manager at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Canfield’s work has focused on care of the patient with pulmonary disease in the ICU and non-ICU setting. Her research on critical care nurses’ comfort assessing spirituality has received national attention. She has spoken on a variety of topics including recognition of physiologic decline and telemedicine at national and international conferences.
