Description
Musings on the Mundane is a look at the world from within the mind of a man attempting to escape distractions. Author Steven Ziegler investigates his own coming of age during key moments from his upbringing South Philadelphia and beyond. In a background filled with divorce, anxiety, pop culture, homework hustling, and lost loves, he weaves his tale through the prism of wanting to know “why?” After taking a break from social media, the author soon recognizes that the aspects of daily life once perceived to be boring don’t have to be. In doing so, he discovers what we need in our lives personally and universally. Strongly influenced by those around him, Ziegler aims to do the same through his own words and actions.
About the author
Steven M. Ziegler is a native of Philadelphia, PA. He has a background in freelance journalism and magazine writing. He holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Communication and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication both from La Salle University. His writing career has included stints as an editorial assistant and contributing writing at Philadelphia Row Home Magazine, Format Magazine, respectively. In 2011, Steven founded Pursuit, an online magazine focused on telling tales of Philadelphians that would otherwise go unheard. Since 2008, he has worked in the field of education, directing enrollment management, development, and marketing for one of Philadelphia’s most prominent high schools. Outside of education, he has looked toward the entertainment business as an outlet for his writing. Currently, he is co-promoting and producing Starving Artist Prevention, a group of writers, musicians, and comedians working to get noticed through a variety show format. Ziegler hopes to one to one day produce and direct many of the screenplays he has stockpiled over the past decade. Musings on the Mundane is his first book.
