Description

Your guide to achieving personal financial success from the beginning! $1 from every book sold goes directly to benefitting a children's education charity.

CONGRATULATIONS! Please take a moment to pause and celebrate yourself.

You are taking a massive leap forward in your life and, after you finish this book, you will have all the tools you need to make outstanding financial decisions every single day for the rest of your life!

This book is for you if:

  • You feel like you could have a better understanding of how to manage your money that's congruent with your goals.
  • You're like the average kid in America and you never learned how to manage your money.
  • You're a parent who wants to help educate your kids, so that they can excel in every area of their lives, including their finances.
  • You're a recent college graduate and you want to get started on the right track – financially.
  • You're graduating high school and want to know how to build a solid financial foundation.
  • You're working on getting your financial house in order.
  • You want to learn more about finances and integrate healthier financial habits into your life.

I run into so many people these days that are just confused about everything going on with their finances. Many of these people happen to be close friends and family, and I'm determined to help.

We don't learn personal finance in school and the world just serves to confuse us more the longer we spend in it. The other unspoken thing is that everyone thinks their method, or their plan, is the best way or the only way. The truth about finance is that there's a lot of "gray" area. There are multiple solutions to one problem. There are multiple pathways to every outcome. I'm here to clear everything up.

My personal mission is to help young professionals take control of their financial lives – creating a "pay yourself first" system, avoiding unnecessary costs, asking better questions, and becoming empowered through knowledge. In my head, by reading this book, you will learn so much about all aspects of personal finance, that you will become a resource among your group of friends for all things finance, regardless of what you do for a living. It's a lofty goal.

About the author

My name is Veronica Karas. I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) Professional, and have been working in the finance industry since 2008. I started by working for a life insurance company, then spent about six months working for a large investment research firm. I was then lucky enough to get hired to work as a full-time marketing associate for a small Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).

Clients started to come to me with their questions since I was working at a financial firm, and I became interested in pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation (yes, they make us write it in all CAPS like that). I earned that designation in 2012 and have since been working directly with individuals from all walks of life, helping them to get their financial house in order, minimize their tax burden, maximize their savings and investment earnings, organize their estate planning, figure out what kind of insurance and how much they need, and everything else that touches their financial lives. I’ve paid bills for clients, purchased boats and cars for clients, helped them sell their homes, helped them buy the home of their dreams, helped them send their kids to college, planned their dream trips, and planned their retirement. Amid this time, I spent about 8 months working for a large brokerage firm – a disaster of an experience that didn’t align with my personal moral compass and went running right back to the RIA world where I genuinely feel blessed to be every single day.

I have worked with ultra-high-net worth individuals, individuals with loads of debt, individuals who never had money and are suddenly inheriting a boat load, and basically everyone in between. I have a deep-seeded passion for helping people making sound financial decisions and become financially independent. I love my work every single day and I am so grateful for every single client and colleague I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

On a more personal note: I’m a dog lover and rescuer, currently the proud mom to 3 fur babies. I live with my amazing husband and our crazy fur-family in Port Washington, NY. I’m also a Registered Yoga Teacher, Buti Yoga, Hot Buti Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga instructor and an IIN certified health coach.

Money Matters Review This book is a great read! It is easy to get through (took me about two days). It provides an informative snapshot of everything one needs to know to begin their path to financial success and also necessary details about key items in one’s adult life, like credit cards, bank accounts, taxes, estates, life insurance, and a basic overview of investing. In today’s world, it can difficult to navigate through all the financial terminology and paperwork (loads and loads of paperwork) and what to do when. Whether or not you have everything ready or are in the process of figuring stuff out (which most of us are), I like this book because it can be used as a beginners guide as an overview of things you NEED to be thinking about or help you realize things that you should be considering that are on your horizon for the future. Veronica Karas, the author, is very knowledgeable, and she really is one the most helpful I know, and this is why I know she wrote this book with the intention to help people achieve financial success.
