He began his career writing long-form journalism articles and profiles on subjects such as the king of Southern grit lit, Harry Crews, as the last journalist to interview reclusive silent screen legend Louise Brooks, discovering the first Elvis impersonator, and with the help of Quentin Tarantino rediscovering actress Linda Haynes.
