Listen, The Cry
A Mission for Life
by Dennis Hilman

Overview

"Listen, The Cry" deeply and personally portrays real-life examples of we can hear, see and respond to the cries and needs of the people who Jesus came to give His attention to. Those who are "different" in so many different ways at home and in divergent cultures. The poor, brokenhearted, captive, blind, bruised, rejected, lonely, etc. For this missionary pastor it has become a lifelong "Mission for Life" beginning with a vision he was given as a 17-year-old which was dramatically confirmed 27 years later. It is a compelling and easy-read story of a life lived on the edge - with mountaintops, bumps, setbacks, lessons, joys and miracles all woven in. 22 page photo album illustrates the book.

Description

"Listen, The Cry" does just that - focuses our attention on listening and responding to the cries and needs of those who need us most. Whether it is in our immediate environment or off in some distant land. That hearing, that commitment is always a challenge, as the author's life exemplifies. At times even resulting in personal loss, deprivation, criticism, risk or material cost. But more importantly living a "Mission for Life" comes with incredible rewards as depicted on these pages, of course with the most promising view to the eternal perspective. The narrative begins with a vision the author had as a teenager in 1963, continues through many years and countries into South Africa in 2008 and leaves us with the miracle meeting of a gypsy boy in Russia in the epilogue. A saga that is definitely not finished!
