I've always compared my life to a high thrilling, adrenaline pumping, blockbuster movie. Sort of like a nail biting event while hanging on the edge of your seat anticipating what's going to happen next. My life (I'm sure just like many of you) has been a rollercoaster ride, with ups and downs, sudden drops and stops.... But it's how I've handled, learned and grown from these situations that show my true character. Our great God will put you in circumstances where in the moment you might not understand them, but in your heart, you must know it's all for a purpose.

My life isn't your average boy next door story. It's not often a senior in high school is a runaway from home and has his 18th birthday celebration locked behind bars in a juvenile hall facility. It's not common to be 17 years old with a kid on the way and finding out the closest person to you in your life has been diagnosed with cancer. Not to mention, I'm a gay black man living in America. Let that sink in.
