Description

In Defense of Science is a poetic journey of my life from 2019 through 2021, sharing the story of a woman during the COVID-19 pandemic who fell into and out of her first true love, and who grew into herself in the process. The love story paralleled and was directly affected by the national dialogue surrounding the pandemic, vaccine efficacy and hesitancy, and the definition of compassionate actions for the collective. A true look into the belief set that divided us across the world, this collection of poems reflects how a woman and man who were deeply in love chose themselves and their values over each other, and how in the end, they were better off for it.
