Description
A pictorial history of the first 100 years of the U.S. III Armored Corps. III Corps was established on May 16, 1918. On its 100th birthday, the Corps was deployed to the Middle East to lead Combined Joint Task Force - Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, the military branch of the Global Defeat-ISIS Coalition. This book covers the Phantom Corps' involvement in World War One, World War Two, and various deployments in support of the Global War on Terrorism. This book also includes general histories of the Caltrop, the Phantom Warrior icon, Canadian and British officers assigned as deputy commanding generals for the Corps, the Corps' inactive periods (1919-1927, 1946-1951, and 1959-1961). Also included are historical sidebars on Jackie Robinson and Elvis Presley (both assigned to Ft.
