About the author
William B. Salt II received his M.D. degree from The Ohio State University in 1972 and completed training in internal medicine and gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University Hospitals in 1977, where he also served as a Chief Resident in Medicine. In 2012, following a three year retirement, he returned to practice with the Ohio Gastroenterology Group, where he had been a founding partner. His areas of interest and special expertise are irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other related functional GI disorders (FGIDs).
