Overview
In this heart warming story, Hugo and his grandparents welcome you into their cozy kitchen. Grandad spends an afternoon with his grandson, passing on his bread making skills. Hugo learns that mixing a few simple ingredients creates more than just bread, but also an atmosphere of learning and love.
Description

This story captures a day in our home with our grandchildren. My husband Joel and I have always made our own bread, it's a family tradition that we are passing down to our grandchildren.

It is my desire to see the art of bread making brought back into the home. Making bread together and sharing it around the family table fills us with warmth, love and togetherness.

The recipe in the back of the book takes three hours start to finish, most of the time is a waiting game since the hands on part is minimal. I hope you will give it a try, if you bake bread with a child please update pictures of your experience with us on Face Book peggy alberda author! And be sure to LIKE us and SHARE to help spread the coziness to other hearts and homes.

Hugo Makes Bread with Grandad I absolutely love this book! As a grandparent, I can’t wait to visit my grandchildren and snuggle up close to read and enjoy every page with them! The illustrations in this book are so engaging; you can feel the warmth of grandma’s kitchen, the aroma of fresh baked bread filling every room, the taste of honey soaked into a warm slice of bread, and the love of family. This is a perfect little primer on making bread and even includes “Hugo’s recipe”. It would be a great project to do together with your child or grandchild. Hugo Makes Bread is a delightful book and it just might inspire a few new little bread bakers in your family! I highly recommend it! Read more

Delightful What a lovely story of the day Hugo visits his grandparents, and his grandad takes him on an exciting adventure of baking their own bread. Hugo is enthralled and thrilled by the process, the suspense, and the magic of how combining simple ingredients in a special way produces a such a delicious result. There are many sweet moments of Hugo being nurtured by his loving grandparents in their cozy home. The illustrations are charming and perfectly enrich this delightful tale. The recipe is in the back of the book so we all can share this joyful experience with our little ones, too. Read more
