This book is an introduction to the Series The Adventures of Kip MacWhiskers and shows how the four characters, a Bossy cat from Scotland, an intelligent mouse from London, a brave German shepherd from Anchorage, AK and a multi-talented poodle from Nashville, TN meet in the USA. They decide to pool their talents and form a detective agency, based in Scotland. They all fly planes and/or helicopters. World problems, such as climate change and fraudulent charities are incorporated into the story. There is also a crow, who narrates the first book and is a commentator in all sequels. They will travel the world solving mysteries, getting into a lot of trouble, but always finding a way out of the crazy predicaments they find themselves in.

Kip MacWhiskers, the leader, wears a kilt and is cheerful and optimistic. Pip Pippington is a studious mouse who is great on the computer. Shep Shepardson is a brave dog of few words who loves to fly and is an expert tracker. Suzy Sparkplug is the most talented, as she can both fly and repair planes, take photographs and do floral arrangements. Together, these four friends can do it all, detective-wise. They believe in a respect for Mother Earth and kindness toward all.

Alexandra K Barclay has been a fine art painter, graphic designer, photographer and lighting fixture designer. She has created Illustrations for catalogs, magazines, and brochures. This is her second illustrated book and the first one where she is also the author. she is originally from Chicago, IL has lived in NYC, and now resides in Tucson, AZ.
