Description
As the Vegan movement is growing, so is the information available to the public. Handbook for the Aussie Vegan incorporates Australian Vegan businesses in the one handy resource so you can easily find what you are searching for. To help you on your vegan journey I have included plenty of recipes by some of Australia’s wonderful vegan businesses, as well as a collection of articles submitted by well known Aussie vegans and a directory. Whether you are already a fully-fledged vegan, or just dabbling a toe in the vegan waters, I hope you find this book useful in making conscious, mindful consumer choices when considering what to buy, what to eat and what to wear. With a foreword written by Mr Philip Wollen OAM, of the Winsome Constance Kindness Trust and Kindness House, and supported by Vegan Australia, Handbook for the Aussie Vegan is a must have for those seeking, or living, a compassionate lifestyle.
About the author
My name is Silva and I am a passionate advocate of plant-based nutrition and compassionate living. My purpose is to educate people so that we can all be healthy, happy and feel good about ourselves, while making mindful choices. My business, Nutritional Empire, is devoted to showcasing that a plant-based diet is ethical, nutritious and always delicious. I am currently studying in the Certificate Vegan Mastery Program, and I am a student of Nutritional Medicine. My aim is to provide consultations, education and classes for those wanting to adopt a plant-based lifestyle. I love bringing people together, providing information and education sourced from across the globe, along with recipes and interviews. I have a degree in Health Sciences – Gerontology. This looks at how we age and how society perceives ageing. Most of my working life has been in the community health setting as I love working with people. I have been a vegetarian since I was 19, although did still eat the occasional fish dish and cheese. In 2011 I became vegan and have never felt better. Being vegan is not just about what you eat, but also what you wear, how you live, and what products you use. Spreading the compassionate message is so important as by doing so we touch many people’s lives. Slowly people change their mindsets and evolve. This is so powerful – and probably the best tool we have against all the multi-million dollar marketing campaigns that promote unhealthy and unethical living and eating.
