Growing Hope speaks to a child's innate sense of survival, calling it out, encouraging it, and even training it. The story gently acknowledges the crippling sense of helplessness the victim role insures, in empowers children to seek options and make better choices, choices that are available to most children each and every day.

Author Pat Guin loves to read to children. A mother of four and now grandmother, she began reading to aloud to her children when they were very young to instill a love for books in them. Now living in South Georgia, she has endeared herself to thousands of children through countless hours reading to them. She has launched The Growing Hope Program in grades K - 5th in her continued efforts to love, educate, encourage and inspire children and their teachers.
