About the author
Dr. Charles (Chad) Barr is the author of the Turtle Tales series of children’s books. This innovative bi-lingual series of books use a color-coded translation tool, which allows readers of both languages direct access to specific translations. Each Turtle Tale story incorporates language, history, sports trivia, geography, and a valuable lesson. Chad’s books are inspired by his Maryland roots, his passion for travel, and desire to familiarize children with some of life’s most important lessons. By incorporating two languages, his books bridge the gap between cultures. He believes that it is never too early to introduce ideas such as acceptance and forgiveness. Grevis the Green Turtle was the first edition of the Turtle Tales series, and follows a young turtle as he moves from Venezuela, to the shores of Maryland. Here he finds a new home, and makes new friends. Francis Falls Asleep was the second installment for the series, and finds Maryland Terrapin (Francis) in a crazy dream, where he explores the dry desert of the Mid-West. The third installment to the Turtle Tales Series, is entitled: Lenny Learns a Lesson. This book introduces readers to the concept of acceptance, and diversity. Dr. Barr grew up in Columbia Maryland, as a Maryland Terrapins Basketball fan, and is currently teaching Sports Management at Lynn University in Boca Raton Florida. He also owns and operates Superfly Productions, which is not only the publishing company for his books, but also his music. He writes, and performs music with Atomic Organ.
