Overview
This book was written and designed to be read by Adoptive Parents to their children to help explain adoption to their children and to affirm to them that adoption was first God's idea. Knowing adoption was God's idea helps adoptees know they are loved by God. In fact, adoption is the very picture God has given all of us for how we become members of His family, through belief in His Son, Jesus. Knowing adoption was God's idea also helps Birth Parents know they are loved by God and that adoption is the very picture God has given all of us for how we become members of His family, through belief in His Son, Jesus. Birth Parents can make an adoption plan knowing it is approved by God and that He loves them immeasurably. "God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." Ephesians 1:5 Interestingly, Moses knew he was adopted, and he came to know his brother and sister.
Description
Although this is a children's book it was conceived and written not only as a book for adoptive parents to read to their children to affirm to them that their adoption is approved by God, but also for birth parents to read and be affirmed that they are loved by God and that their children will always know they are loved by God and by their birth parents. This book helps all members of the adoption triad, birth parents, adoptees and adoptive parents, see their place in God's plan and know they are each one loved by God. "'For I know the plans I have for you', says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'" Jeremiah 29.11 Adoption is life giving, life affirming and God-approved. Adoption is a loving, healthful provision birth parents can make for their children when they are unable to provide for the child as they would otherwise want to due to circumstances outside their control, just as Moses parents were unable to provide for him, so they arranged for Pharaoh's daughter to adopt him. Birth Parents often wonder what God will think of them if they place their child for adoption. They also often wonder what their child will think of them if they make an adoption plan. The first recorded adoption was of Moses. Exodus 2:10 Adoption was God's idea. It was the perfect provision for Moses during a time when Pharaoh had ordered all the baby boys to be killed. Moses would later be used by God in a mighty way to save His people and to receive the Ten Commandments. This book helps birth parents see that God will always love them and that He definitely approves of adoption. Moses' adoption is God's foreshadowing to us all that we may be adopted into God's family by believing in and following Jesus Christ. "God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." Ephesians 1:5 Children who are adopted are most often very grateful to their birth parents for providing them with a loving family who is able to provide a wonderful life for them, thereby enabling the children to become all God has planned for them to be. This book helps adoptees see that adoption is often a part of God's good plan for his children and that we are all invited to be adopted into God's family through belief in Jesus. Moses knew he was adopted, and he came to know his sister and brother.
