About the author
I am Pavajo (pronounced /puh-vah-joe/). I am a writer, author, speaker, singer, songwriter, consultant and administrator from DeRidder, Louisiana. I attended Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Humanities.
hold dear my fondest memories of Drum Major at DeRidder High School and working as a Radio Personality of KGRM FM Radio Station at Grambling State University; all while traveling and singing with the school's gospel choir. My passion is to see, hear and feel people shine. Hands down! I am fueled when the awareness of inner strengths, talents and courage is displayed. I've always been different and I continue to march to the beat of my own drum. Life has thrown me a few curve balls, interceptions, and I've even been sacked a few times. The saying goes and is true "You can't keep a good woman down." Because I have been motivated and inspired by so many people, I am on a path to motivate and inspire others in return.
I've authored my first children's book entitled Glitter Everywhere. Glitter Everywhere is the story of a little girl (Naomi) that is made aware of the light and sparkle that surrounds her; if only we look to see the good in the things around us. This good that is in the world can only be seen when we are aware of the good in our heart and soul. One of my favorite sayings about children states "Children see magic because they look for it." May we all continue to see the glitter, sparkle and shine in ourselves and others. currently have an amazing life in Houston, Texas where I work in Higher Education. I am also humbled to lead an amazing team of talented people weekly as the Director of Fine Arts. I am especially moved by gifts and talents of the arts that are expressed freely and with passion. My big dream is to open an academy that will allow for such expressions.
