Overview

This book, a quick read, is designed to help all people, but particularly Type A individuals, to become healthier, happier, and highly effective leaders by simply modifying personality traits. It is a fact that Type A people are twice as likely to suffer from coronary heart disease than any other group type. Haines herself a Type A, has coronary heart disease and has undergone double bypass heart surgery. While there are many contributing factors, as discussed in the book, that cause heart disease, Haines believes that Type A trait modification can help to reduce the chances of contracting the disease.

Description
Written with the purpose of helping Type A people to modify the "dark side" of their personality traits. To realize they may be at risk or prone to coronary heart disease, hypertension etc. to understand that this personality modification may help to eliminate some of that risk. Moreover, to learn that by modifying the negative traits of the personality type, they can become a highly effective, highly respected, genuine leader in all aspects of their life. "Getting Over Yourself" is short, concise and to the point. The twelve steps are clear and easy to follow. A quick and easy read, the book can also help those who know, work with, work for, or simply love a Type A; to be able to understand and relate better to their personality traits. It can also help all people to identify the aspects of their own personality and Type A traits they might possess.
