Overview
From Making a Living to Creating a Life shows people how they can truly enjoy and derive deep satisfaction from their work, whatever it is they happen to do for a living. And the book goes further than that; it challenges head-on the default conversation that work is, at best, the thing that earns the money to pay for what we'd rather be doing, or, at worst, that it's a curse for not having been born rich. What if we had a new vision for work, not as a necessary evil, but as a source of all the great things we want our lives to be; an expression of who we are; a way of serving rather than getting; a legacy we want to leave to the world? That is this book's promise.

About the author
David Firth is an organizational development consultant, a business writer, a published author, and a noted conference speaker. He specializes in human change – how it’s both desired and resisted – and how change can be effectively accomplished in the workplace. He is intrigued by corporate cultures. Like a business anthropologist, he brings a healthy curiosity to the fascinating forms of engagement between leaders and followers, managers and workers. Through his corporate coaching and organizational development consulting, he helps companies and teams create amazing visions for what’s possible. He then helps implement the strategies to make the visions real. David is a graduate of Oxford University with an MA in English Language & Literature. In the summer of 2008, he also embraced change by moving from the UK with his wife and family to settle in Loveland, Colorado.  He has been an organizational development consultant and motivational keynote speaker for more than 20 years.
