Frenchy: World War II Nurse

This story is based on the real-life experiences of Frances Miernicke Plenert, a surgical nurse whose adventures took her from Minnesota to Arkansas to North Africa and eventually to Italy, France, and Germany. Join Frenchy on the first part of her war-time journey through North Africa as she encounters the British Army Medical Corps, German prisoners, espionage, and a handsome Allied tank gunner.

Cynthia Lynne David currently teaches anatomy and physiology and microbiology at Augusta Technical College in Augusta, Georgia. She has a Ph.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. In addition to her love of science, she has an interest in World War II medical history.
