Dennis Stearns, CFP®, is a financial planner, futurist, entrepreneur, community leader, author, TEDx speaker, and the president of Stearns Financial Group, a fee-only investment management, financial, and business-planning firm with offices in Chapel Hill and Greensboro, North Carolina.
• Dennis regularly leads best-practice workshops and delivers keynote presentations on investing and financial planning at local, regional, and national conferences. He was selected to be the facilitator at a major think tank in Boston for the leaders of the aging movement, including representatives from Social Security, Medicare, AARP, the Boston Center for Retirement Research, National Endowment for Financial Education, and many others.
• He has been named “one of the leading financial scenario experts and futurists” by the Financial Planning Association.
• Dennis is the author of several books, including CEO Road Rules: Right Focus, Right People, Right Execution. Road Rules was praised by Good to Great level-5 leader Daniel Jordt, former CEO of Walgreens.
• He is an advisory board member for the Chamber Entrepreneur Launch program, a partner in a technology business accelerator and is treasurer and a board member for the Gateway University Research Park.
• An active community leader, Dennis has earned two national Community Service Awards.
• Dennis is a former chess expert and member of one of the winningest Pan-American chess teams in U.S. history. Today he coaches an inner-city chess club and plays chess with up to 30 people at the same time to raise money for children’s charities.
