Description
This is a book of poetry dedicated to all of the lovely Black and Hispanic women in NYC. They are works of beauty. From the pecan tan skin of a sun-baked Boricua to the black velvet skin of an Alabama Slamma. This book has 31 poems and is divided into 5 parts: Heartbreak and Apologies; Looking for Love; The Things that Lovers Do; Lovely Latin Ladies; and You Got Me Wide Open.
About the author
Tyrone Turner is an aspiring renaissance man. He is an event promoter, author, public speaker, spoken word artist, and seminar leader. He has pushed the envelope with developing a new paradigm for poetry slams — poems that can be strung together as short films or stage plays and retro dramatic audio series of poems that tell a story. Keep your eyes open for his soon-to-be-released follow-ups to his book, FOR THE LOVE OF WOMEN OF COLOR. One will be an audio version of the book featuring original music and a short film based on some of the poems from the book. He will also be releasing a business development book in early 2011 and will be conducting seminars teaching the principles explained in the book starting in the summer 2011.
