About the author
Dr. Patricia Walcyk is a board-certified preventive medicine doctor experienced in providing compassionate care to her patients. She has a zest for learning and determination that with an attitude of humor and perseverance, life is an adventure.
Dr. Walcyk graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Human Biology from Stanford University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. She practiced industrial medicine and became Board Certified in Preventive Medicine. She worked for Exxon/Paramins and then with Hawaii Permanente Medical Group in Honolulu, Hawaii. With experience in treating people who have suffered both physical and emotional trauma, she teaches people ways to navigate through periods of mayhem into a life of focus and peace. She has lectured corporate staff, physicians and the public in medical subjects, continuing education and preventive medicine.
Her love of art is pursued by practicing intermediate/advanced Argentine tango, gardening, reading, travel, writing and speaking Italian and French. Through writing she wishes to impart to others encouragement to pursue one’s dreams while incorporating a bit of humor and adventure to one’s daily routines.
