About the author
Jim Baird is a veteran of almost 40 years in the professional fire service. His career started with the City of Mesa, Arizona Fire Department where he served as a firefighter/paramedic for 7 years and a company officer for the next 14 years. Upon his retirement, he moved to Ohio to begin a second career. Over the next 19 plus years he served as a fire instructor at the Tri-C Fire Training Academy, as the Fire/EMS Training Coordinator for the City of Hudson, Ohio, and ended his career serving as the chief for the City of Brunswick, Ohio Fire Department. In his time he has been certified in Hazardous Material Operations, Swift Water Rescue Training, Aircraft Firefighting and Rescue Training, and has extensive experience in fire group command and control.
