Family Ties & Thicker Than Blood
The Kinnear Chronicles Books 1 & 2
by Joshua Sanofsky

Overview

In a world not unlike our own, Alys Kinnear, a young mage on the way to becoming a full-fledged wizard, leaves her training behind to stand on her own for the first time. Taking a job in London brings her more adventure than she’d expected, even from the capital city of Albion.

Description

When Alys finds herself implicated in a string of ghastly murders, her bonds with her new snow leopard familiars - Athena and Artemis - are tested, and the motives of Scotland Yard’s Detective Inspector Ben Donovan may not be as innocent as they appear. As the pieces fall into place, everything she’s experienced begins to feel interconnected, leading Alys inexorably to a confrontation with a mysterious sorceress who seems to know more about her than she knows about herself.

About the author

Joshua Sanofsky is a life-long native of Western Massachusetts. He spends his daylight hours disguised as a mild-mannered IT specialist, trying to get inanimate objects to talk to him and work the way he tells them to. He spends his nights trying to keep all of the animated characters in his imagination from saying too much…and work the way he tells them to.

For the past couple of decades, Josh has been creating worlds for his characters to inhabit, and dreaming up ways to push at the practical implications of a wide variety of Science Fiction and Fantasy tropes. He loves telling stories, entertaining his readers, and sparking fun debates about how to make the implausible plausible. He has a degree in Folklore & Mythology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, which pretty much only ever gets used in his writing.

The first book, Family Ties, will also be serialized on Royal Road.
