Overview

Historical fiction look at the first five years following World War II, including the first 6 months of the Korean War. Includes many of the real life people and events of the time as well as following a fictional California farm family and their friends, all caught up in the newly emerging "atomic age."

Description

With the end of WWII, Planet Earth is hoping the human penchant for warring has finally passed. Unfortunately, with the use of the atomic bomb in 1945, a new kind of war pitting communism versus democracy will soon take center stage. Amid a postwar rush into consumerism and new technology, a seething situation in Asia will again fan the flames of war and destruction as the calendar turns to 1950. The war in Korea will rage on through the rest of the year and beyond, thus bringing mankind into what will often be described as the "Cold War," or the age of "fear and paranoia."

About the author
After serving in the Cold War military, the author joined a burgeoning west coast aerospace missile program for the next three decades. After retiring from the often stressful world of space launches, there was finally time to pursue the more creative endeavor of writing his thoughts and putting them into novel form. Failure to Heed is his fourth and most challenging novel. He still lives in California with his wife, Jean, and three loyal dogs of various descriptions.
