While dealing with miseducation, bullying and growing up in a time of social injustice Kimberly finds strength in one of her older sister's most prized possession... her new coat. This story speaks about perseverance through hard times and survival, while contributing to the value of the black family experience and how the strength of one family overcame the many systemic hurdles of the past.
