Overview
In 1980, Doug Peters experienced an out-of-body, near-death experience, and began to write spiritual inspirational poetry. Ebb And Flow is the eighth in the series of his 9 poetry books, collectively entitled, Poetry Of Time And Conscience. While on a hospital emergency room bed his consciousness rose to become one with the light above him, where warmth, love and kindness enveloped him. With a presence in the light, and another within himself, his earthly cares lightened and he was filled with spiritual communication and understanding of the nature of life, death, existence, purpose, etc. Ever since that moment he has been compelled, through the Holy Spirit, to put to paper his observations relating common earthly existence to spiritually related meaning. He spent the next 30 years writing the 9 self-published poetry books, mainly on the back of bus transfers while in operation of city transit vehicles. Cover photograph by Holly DeLaughter Ethan.

He spent the next 30 years writing the 9 self-published poetry books, mainly on the back of bus transfers while in operation of city transit vehicles, as his observations of people and everyday life were considered. This book contains, within 3 of its 4 chapters, a mixture of lyrical rhyme and prose poetry. The other chapter, entitled Haiku For You, contains 31 pages of 93 haiku poems.
