Description

The year is 2024 and Colonel Gregor Alexi Nikolanovic, a former Spetznaz operative infamously known throughout the world as the "Devil's Ghost" has been contracted by a terrorist to strike at the heart of the United States with a dirty bomb. The Ghost, known for his ruthlessness and brutality, is the nemesis of legendary Special Forces operator Colonel Nathan Alexander Warr. Colonel Warr leads his elite force of clandestine warriors based out of a secret underground facility, "The Kennel ", located in Area 51. This unit will stop at nothing to covertly protect the country from the evil of the terrorists and the Devil's Ghost, who's made it personal this time! Three main conflicts comprise the action in this debut novel: a rescue mission in the Sudanese desert; the threat to the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby; a final battle (or is it?) in a Syrian town near the Jordanian border. There are small pit stops during this journey to learn the recruitment and background of other team members, Brain (the ultra-brilliant female chief scientist), Sandman (the quiet, cheeky sniper), Maxxum (the large hulking heavy weapons expert), Breeze (a well-rounded infiltration specialist), Brick (martial arts expert and infiltrator), Wingnut (a pilot of questionable sanity), and Tunnel Rat (infiltration and explosives expert). Each of them has their own specialty and history, all of them functioning together as one cohesive unit. DOGS OF WARR captures another yet another chapter in the eternal struggle between good and evil. An action/adventure thriller reminiscent of the Tom Clancy SPLINTER CELL franchise and Jack Silkstone's successful self-published PRIMAL series, but with a dash of science fiction thrown in, the Kennel being the hiding place for the famed UFO from the Roswell incident of 1947. Join the Dogs as they pursue victory over evil in this first of a series!

About the author

TR Gabriel grew up in rural, small town, west central Wisconsin. Watching aircraft from nearby Ft. McCoy fly overhead got him interested in both the military and aviation. During twenty years active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as an aircraft ground support equipment technician, a Communications Officer, and a CH-53E Helicopter Pilot, primarily served on the west coast with numerous overseas deployments. He is currently with the Flight Program Training Division for a major logistics company in Louisville.

TR's start in writing began when he was prompted by his wife to accomplish one of his 'bucket list' items, writing a book. The subsequent journey has been one of hard work, a steep learning curve, and the realization of a passion for writing.

The Dogs of Warr were initially created in 1986 as comic book characters drawn in a sketchbook. The first novel, Dogs of Warr, brought those characters to life, giving them depth and dimension. Three books in now and working on the fourth. Skull & Crossbownes are two of his other sketched characters debuting in the novella Chronicles of Skull & Crossbownes: The Atlantis File.

A 'part time' author, it's a 'full-time' passion for TR with the ideas continually flowing, eventually winding up on ‘paper’. He sincerely hopes others will hop on to enjoy the ride he's taking his characters on!
