About the author
Gwen Hankins enjoyed stories told to her by her great grandmother, Ollie Vesta Presley, when she was a small child. As far as Gwen can remember, she always knew how to read--this could not be so--she attributes her love of the written word, and the love of reading to her great-grandmother. She hopes her stories will be read to small children until they can read them for themselves. The ability to read changes futures and educates peoples; so that they can decide for themselves what is propaganda and what is truth and avoid oppression by ignorance. Gwen lives in the country with her husband, four dogs: Jo'Lee, Bella, Frenchie, and Charlie. She has four grown daughters, a step-son and step-daughter whom she loves very much and eight grandchildren. She loves to dance, visit with people of all ages and cultures; and she dreams of going to Germany and Ireland to visit the castles; and reading her own book in her grandchildrens' classes.
