This is the story of Shakim. Born into an unfair life. Then his mother dies and he's moved to Harlem at the beginning of the 80's crack epidemic. Looking out the window every night he could only dream of a lifestyle better than the one he was living. From the stoop to the street, there was no turning back.

This is the story of Shakim. Born into an unfair life. Then his mother dies and he's moved to Harlem at the beginning of the 80's crack epidemic. Looking out the window every night he could only dream of a lifestyle better than the one he was living. From the stoop to the street, there was no turning back. He begins winding down the road of a person lost in the streets, trying to pick up to just lose again, and again, unable to find what direction he is headed. Finding out that everything and everyone is what it seems. He will find a way.

I am a writer based out of New York writing experiences of life in my interpretation of the city I grew up in.
