Selected Bible verses and hymns for every day of the year. Each day's reading is based on a single theme. A handy companion offering strength, challenge and encouragement from the Bible. It offers an opportunity to be still and reflect on God's word each day.

These readings from the Bible have been compiled with the aim of providing a source of daily encouragement and guidance for Christians. The extracts have been specially chosen to give inspiration – and at times challenge – to believers. The readings are accompanied by extracts from hymns, which can be used to make a personal response to God and his word. The Bible portions and hymns in this book could perhaps best be complemented by following a plan of reading through the whole Bible. In this way a personal devotional time with God becomes a daily opportunity to ‘seek [the LORD’s] face’ (Psalm 27:8) as God speaks to us about our lives ‘face to face, as a man speaks with his friend’ (Exodus 33:11).

Martin Manser has been a professional reference book editor since 1980. He has compiled or edited more than 200 reference books, particularly, English-language dictionaries, Bible-reference titles and business-skills books. He is also a Language Trainer and Consultant with national and international companies and organizations.
