This is the story of a newly born red blood cell who learns about the human body as it travels through the circulatory system. Corpy learns about human anatomy and physiology as Corpy meets other cells and travels to parts of the body to deliver oxygen. Corpy converses with organs of interest in order to learn the function of that organ. Corpy removes Carbon Dioxide from tissues and organs and returns to the heart to again travel to the lungs to expel carbon dioxide and to pick up more oxygen to be delivered to another site in the body.
About the author
Dr. Wrenn received his medical degree from the Tulane School of Medicine and completed his cardiology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He enjoyed private practice in Alexandria, Louisiana until March 2012. He joined the Harry and Sally Porter Heart and Vascular Center, Fairbanks, Alaska in April 2012. Dr. Wrenn is an alumnus of Louisiana State University, and served in the Unites States Army, Medical Corp. for nine years. He is the author of " ABCs of Human Body" workbook for children and an E-book: "Corpy the Little Red Corpuscle." Board Certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Echocardiography , Interventional Cardiology, and Cardiovascular CT, Dr. Wrenn loves teaching and shares his years of experience and a passion for patient focused care at the Porter Heart & Vascular Center at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
