Description

This book showcases Code/Art's 2021 CodeYourself™ winning portraits and the girls who coded them. Code/Art's CodeYourself™ competition combines creativity, art, and coding to inspire more girls to pursue computer science while also helping change society's view of what a coder looks like. The 2021 theme was Code Your City and contestants interpreted this in myriad ways – including references to places, people, customs, and passions that define community for them. Each coded self-portrait is accompanied by the coder's photo and a short statement. In 2021, the competition went national for the first time, allowing for entries from all across the U.S. representing our five major regions.
