Description
The third edition of Cartoons That Will Send Me Straight To Hell by cartoonist-going-to-hell Dan Collins brings 224 more of his hilarious sins to light in what could be the final nail in his cosmic coffin. He may be doomed for eternity, but we are doomed to unending laughter with this latest collection of cartoons from Dan's fevered funny bone. Culled from his archives of 40 years of working in magazines, newspapers, and greeting cards, these are the creme de la crap of one of America's zaniest and off-the-wall cartoonists. Chicken strippers, house fly orchestras, and funeral home fire drills are just a sampling of the subjects Dan explores in his typically twisted fashion. Add to that alien moms, Amish drive-bys, Christian porn shops, leprechaun-doms and the Pubic Hair Fairy. If you have never seen Mr. Collins' handiwork with pen and ink then you are in for an ROFL rapture. It's Judgment Day for your blues as the apocalaughs rain down. Dan was one of the original Hustler cartoonists for Larry Flynt's irreverent magazine, and he was also an editorial cartoonist for The Delaware Gazette (Ohio), as well as the creator of many best-selling greeting cards with companies like American Greetings and NobleWorks. Dan also designed and produced this e-book of his original work under his Fun-E-Books Publishing brand. Dan is a funny, talented guy and we will miss him when he finally goes. Fortunately for us, he can't take his cartoons with him!
About the author
Dan Collins has been drawing cartoons for a living since he was 23 years old and drew them for free all the years before that. He's 57 now and true to George Booth's definition of a real cartoonist, he is no longer good for anything else. Except perhaps for playing fingerstyle guitar, raising orchids in his home and fishing for bass and muskies in the lakes that crowd Delaware County, Ohio. Born in Canton, Ohio in 1954, his family would move to the Orrville, Ohio area, the home of Smucker's Jelly and Bobby Knight. He attended Ohio State University and Columbus College of Art and Design but would not graduate. He went straight into the field of professional cartooning when he signed a contract to be a staff cartoonist for the infamous Hustler Magazine. Dan would continue on contract for 34 year. He also has contributed to many other publications over his career such as: Boy's Life, Saturday Evening Post, The National Lampoon, briefly in Mad Magazine and also has published many greeting cards with companies like Nobleworks, American Greetings, Carlton, John Sands Greetings and Marion Heath to name just the largest ones. He did editorial cartoons for the Delaware Gazette from 1996 to 2004 for which he won 10 first place awards for cartooning and illustration by The Ohio Associated Press Society. He lives with Vicky, his wife of 35 years in their 100+ year old home. He has two grown children and one grand daughter.
