Blind Hill

It the late spring of 1968 and 13 year-old Coy is looking forward to the 7th grade dance, to the end of the school year, and to a summer of baseball and fishing. His plans are shaken when a civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King is murdered 50 miles away in Memphis, Tennessee.The people in the town of Harpeth Junction are on edge and unsure about the possible effects from the racial unrest nearby. Blind Hill is the the story of three 13 year-old boys caught in the fallout from the turmoil of the summer of 1968 and the strained race relations that are boiling over throughout the country. Civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King is murdered 50 miles away in Memphis, TN, and one of the boys hears a comment about the murder that will begin to change the way he looks at the people in his hometown. The summer that was supposed to be filled with the fun of fishing and baseball takes a more serious turn. The killing of Dr. King is soon followed by the murder of Robert Kennedy and the uncertainty of that summer grows. Follow Coy, Marcus and Ben as they explore new relationships and new challenges, along with the joy of being friends who share more in common than they could have imagined.

Henry Fennell grew up in a small cotton town 50 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee. He began writing for the radio listener at age fifteen in his home town and continued writing for radio for over forty years. Blind Hill is his first novel.
