Better By The Letter by Sandi Washburn is a handy manual that gives readers 26 strategies to help them feel better in alphabetical order. Many times teachers are put under stress by asking them to regulate their emotions, to plan and organize, to learn new things, without telling them how to handle the stress. The techniques and tools in the book teach them self-care so that there is peace in their daily lives. The exercises and fun suggestions are easy to practice and incorporate into daily living so that burnout does not occur. Let's read the author's references to the effects and practices she has gathered from the many phases of her life, and become students of self-care.

The approach is fresh and the thought of having the strategies discussed by the letter is innovative and interesting. It is a quick and easy read and helps to address stress and burnout issues without making it too difficult for readers to practice. Stress happens to everyone and this book will help teachers to learn self-care and stress management and become focused, energized, and eager to tackle tasks and assignments. The Table of Letters at the end of the book is helpful to remember the content in each chapter and decide on what needs to be practiced at a particular point in time to bring stress levels down.
