Description

In the gritty streets of 1920s New York City, Eddie "The Hammer" Hammond, a young Irish bootlegger, finds himself at a crossroads when he faces arrest for his illegal alcohol operations. With two stark options before him – prison or enlistment in the Army – Eddie chooses the latter, a decision that sets him on an unexpected and perilous path.

During his time in the Army, Eddie discovers a latent talent for boxing and goes on to win three amateur Army titles, cementing his reputation as a formidable fighter. However, his dreams of becoming a professional boxer clash with the wishes of his new bride, who deems the sport barbaric. Eddie reluctantly puts his boxing aspirations on hold and takes up a regular job to keep the peace in his marriage.

Throughout his life, both inside and outside the boxing ring, Eddie is defined by an unrelenting fighting spirit and an unwavering desire to become the greatest boxer of all time. His extraordinary fighting prowess never wanes, even during his years away from the sport.

When circumstances lead Eddie to make an extraordinary comeback, he attracts the attention of the local mob boss, Pasquale Del Vecchio. Pasquale, eager to protect his interests, approaches Eddie with a sinister proposition: take a dive in an upcoming fight to ensure victory for Pasquale's fighter. Eddie, fiercely principled and refusing to compromise his integrity, rejects the offer.

As the climactic fight unfolds, tragedy strikes. Eddie Hammond, the indomitable boxer, meets a sudden and shocking end in the very first round. The question on everyone's lips: Was Eddie murdered?

The New York Boxing Commission launches an investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding Eddie's death. Leading the charge is Chief of Police Chuck Moyer, a no-nonsense cop determined to leave no stone unturned. The shadow of suspicion looms over the mob, but as Moyer digs deeper, he uncovers a labyrinthine web of motives and suspects. Was it the mob's revenge, a vendetta from Eddie's brother who owed the mob money, or perhaps even his wife, who may have had her own dark reasons?

"The Murder Of Eddie "The Hammer" Hammond" is a gripping true-crime murder mystery that delves into the seedy underbelly of 1920s New York, where the line between right and wrong blurs, and justice becomes a matter of life and death.
