Brenda Myers is the CEO and Founder of Journey Insurance Solutions, LLC, established in 2010. Journey Insurance Solutions is a fast-paced, rapidly growing company that caters to the entire financial needs of its clients. Taking the knowledge and experience she gained from having worked with some of the best insurance companies in the industry, she leveraged it and started her insurance company. Some wondered about the timing for starting her business during the economic decline in 2009, but Brenda realized that there was a need for financial education in her community, so she began her journey toward helping families prepare for their financial futures. She is a Financial Broker licensed to do business in Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana and Texas. Brenda is a published author. She has written two books entitled Making the Decision to Purchase Life Insurance and Becoming an Entrepreneur, My Pink Slip Defining Moment. She is a Board Member of Dressing for Success, a member of Women for Progress, which is an organization that promotes cultural advancement and economic development while empowering women through Women's Business & Entrepreneur's Network, a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors), and a member of Exhale Central Mississippi which is an organization that promotes female empowerment. Brenda is a Mentor with SCORE MS, which is a volunteer program sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration geared toward helping aspiring entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. She has been featured on radio shows such as Defining Moments with Larry Nicks on WPMP, Metro Morning Live with Rob Jay on WJSU, and the Working Woman's Report with Women for Progress, MS. She has also been featured in Woman to Woman the Magazine. She is a motivational speaker. She has served on several panels and platforms such as The Power Up Summit and the Comeback Champion Summit. She was also a guest speaker at the Virtual Fall Leadership Conference for DECA (which is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe), where she was invited to speak to students about entrepreneurship. She also served as a judge at DECA's 2020 Mississippi High School State Conference in Vicksburg, MS. She believes in giving back to the community by working with charitable organizations such as the RECH Foundation, which helps individuals and families impacted by crime and incarceration, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Salute to Greatness cause. Her company has partnered with the Salvation Army's Angel Tree and other non-profit organizations to help make sure that each child has a gift at Christmas. She is an advocate for female entrepreneurs and the advancement of small businesses. Her favorite quote is "There are no secrets to success.
