Overview
ArtQuilt Elements (AQE) is the only biennial East Coast venue devoted exclusively to the art quilt. Founded in 1999, AQE 2018 is the 13th exhibition of this internationally acclaimed show set in suburban Philadelphia. The exhibition has been widely praised by reviewers and artists not only for exhibiting the quilts in a gallery setting but also for promoting the quilt as an art form. The six-week exhibit will display quilts from 48 fiber artists from around the world, juried by Mi-Kyoung Lee, Program Director of Craft + Material Studies at University of the Arts, and Marsha Moss, Public Art Curator and Consultant. The works juried into this exhibition embrace original and innovative methods and incorporate impressive craftsmanship and technical prowess. This 64-page exhibition catalog features a full-page image of each quilt accompanied by the artist's statement, as well as introductory essays by Nancy Campbell, Wayne Art Center Executive Director, and the Art Quilt Elements 2018 Committee. Jurors Mi-Kyoung Lee and Marhsa Moss introduce the exhibition with reflections on their selection process.

About the author
Wayne Art Center has been enriching the cultural needs of the community since 1930. From its modest beginnings as the first art center on the Main Line, the Center has grown into a dynamic nonprofit organization, providing instruction in all phases of the visual and performing arts. Nearly 500 classes and workshops are offered annually to more than 4,000 students of all ages and abilities. The Center’s high-caliber and committed faculty support the fine reputation the Center has achieved through the years. The new Davenport Gallery and the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Gallery attract over 35,000 visitors a year for exhibitions, lectures and special events. To accommodate and better serve our community, the Wayne Art Center completed an extensive, state-of-the-art, $5.5 million renovation with a 30,000-square-foot expansion project that includes magnificently renovated studios, expanded exhibition areas, increased space for Center staff and faculty, manicured picturesque walking gardens and additional handicapped access. Wayne Art Center is located at 413 Maplewood Avenue in Wayne, Pennsylvania. For further information, call 610-688-3553 or visit the website at wayneart.org.
