About the author
Dr Gareth Morgan is an economist, public policy analyst, portfolio investor, motorcycle adventurer and philanthropist.
Through the Morgan Foundation he has instigated a series of books on issues of public interest. They cover such diverse topics as the science of climate change, the efficacy of New Zealand’s public health system, the state of world's fish stocks and scope for improving New Zealand’s Quota Management System, the components of an improved tax and welfare system, the environmental issues threatening New Zealand’s sub-antarctic islands, the issues with processed food and obesity, and now the future of the Treaty of Waitangi.
He has also co-authored with his wife Joanne, six books on their offshore motorcycle trips, including a trip through North and South Korea in 2013, and has written three books on personal investment. See ‘Other Titles’ for more information.
Dr Morgan and his wife Joanne fund the Morgan Foundation which in addition to research on matters of public interest, invests in social development projects in developing countries and conservation projects in New Zealand.
