Description
Carole Sarkan is a retired elementary school teacher who also wrote and published the book "And Candy Smiled." "And Candy Smiled" is a heart-warming story about Carole's dog Candy, who was hit by a car, lost her front leg, and fought courageously to live. "And Candy Lived" picks up the story years later after Candy's last full year on earth. This simple, positive story is about how Candy's soul ventures back to this world to help her earth family and friends. Emily Christoff-Flowers's rich and swirling illustrations make Candy's story come alive. "And Candy Lived" celebrates life eternal and the love between a special dog and her family. Carole says, "It was as if Candy's spirit took over and wrote this book from beginning to end. Candy taught us a lot about life and beyond. She taught us to keep believing, no matter what. This brave dog showed us that life goes on and is more than what we know. This book is about just that: our loved ones on the Other Side are always helping us here on earth. They keep living, too." "The book "And Candy Lived" exemplifies the power that animals have on a person's well-being. Ms. Sarkan does a superb job of capturing the essence of the healing powers of the human-animal bond, which transcend time and space extending even into the afterlife. Well done!" -Susan Conda, Hope and Recovery Pet HARP Program, Founder
