A Moment and a Memory

A cartoonist pens a hymn of praise to the vanishing generation of World War II. With love, laughter and remembrance, personal memories are brought to life as cartoons.

William H. Frake III began his career as an animator in major studios such as Warner Brothers, Disney, and Marvel. After working on numerous films, including Roger Rabbit, Iron Giant, and Ice Age, he wanted to pay homage to his veteran friends and to use his gift of drawing to honor their service to our country. The humor with which the veterans relayed their tales resonated with Frake as he sketched their experiences, and it's his hope that they'll bring joy and happiness to those who shared their stories.
