About the author
Didier Philoctete is a social worker, professional parenting coach, author and founder of mom2son, Inc., a professional coaching service dedicated to connecting mothers with their teenage sons. Didier is currently a Dean of Students at a Charter School in Newark, New Jersey. He has a Master’s degree in Social Work and Guidance Counseling and is a member of the Association of School Social Worker’s and American Counselor’s Association.
Didier attributes his success in navigating through the tumultuous teenage years to his mother, who was relentless in her pursuit to staying connected with him, regardless of how much he tried to push her away. Being able to relate to the experiences of teenage boys has been a tremendous benefit to helping his male students and their parents.
Didier has over 5 years of experience working with mothers of teenage sons in a variety of settings. In speaking with mothers, he recognized a common theme. These mothers were all passionate and loving parents who just could not seem to penetrate their teenage son’s “defensive wall.” The more they tried to stay connected, the more disconnected the relationship appeared to become.
7 steps towards staying connecting with your teenage son; A mother’s guide was born as a result of his belief that “an empowered parent is an inspired parent.”
Though Didier will forever be a New Yorker at heart, he currently resides in New Jersey with his fiancé and their dog, Prince.
