About the author
Joshua grew up in the entertainment business in New York and Los Angeles. He appeared in his first commercial at the age of five and had his own sports radio show at the age of twelve. He dabbled in performing up until he graduated with a degree in English from U.C.L.A. Upon graduating he immediately went to work in film and television as a production assistant. In his first year at Universal, he sold a story to Law & Order in its freshman year. He went on to write numerous more episodes and since then has written for such successful shows as Chicago Hope and Judging Amy. His biggest break came with the landmark show Resurrection Blvd. on Showtime; the first television show to feature an all Latino cast. He won numerous awards while on staff, including two GLAAD awards for writing. Mr. Stern was subsequently hired to rewrite a film script for the producers of the indie hit film Mean Creek. He then made his directorial debut with two short films he wrote and shot simultaneously; Jewz N the Hood and Queer Eye for the Homeless Guy. Both films combined to appear in over 30 festivals worldwide, including the prestigious Rhode Island Film Festival, Annapolis Film Festival, and World of Comedy Festival in Toronto. On the heals of his films playing all over the world, Mr. Stern wrote and sold his first television drama pilot to the Fox Network. He then went on to develop, write, and produce the bible and pilot for a digital media series that starred Rosario Dawson. Currently he is out to studios and networks with separate spec pilots that reflect the unique voice Mr. Stern has. He is also the proud parent of two beautiful children, Ashley and Alec.
