Description
Do you long for peace and rest during the stressful holiday season? "31 Days of December Peace" is a companion for Stanton Lanier's 2009 Best Holiday Album "December Peace" (ZMR Awards). Short stories and reflections from Stanton, and special friends from his musical journey, invite you into blissful moments each day during December (best while listening to the album). Stanton's journey to founding Music to Light the World, and becoming an award winning pianist-composer, was shaped by climbing trees in North Carolina, working at a canoe rental in the Florida panhandle, majoring in chemistry at Georgia Tech, meditating on ancient scriptures, and many other stories. Special friends have played a part in his story too, including a nephrologist, a Grammy winning producer, a jewelry designer, business owners, spiritual leaders, artists, authors, financial advisors and cancer survivors. Their stories compliment Stanton's, weaving a beautiful tapestry of peace, rest, hope and healing that has touched lives around the world. Find a quiet place. Pause from the stress. Receive peace and rest. The words of "31 Days of December Peace" invite you to experience a refreshing and renewing December.
About the author
Stanton Lanier is an award-winning pianist and composer, and a storyteller at heart through his live concerts and blog. "31 Days of December Peace" is his first book, combining short stories from his own life with contributions from special friends who have been part of his life and musical journey. This book is a companion to his album "December Peace," which won 2009 Best Holiday Album (ZMR Awards) over Enya and Yo-Yo Ma. Stanton has released seven albums, with four produced by Grammy winner Will Ackerman, Founder of Windham Hill Records. "A Thousand Years" was a 2011 Best Neo-Classical Album Nominee (ZMR) and was named to Christianity Today's 2011 Notable Sacred Music, alongside Jackie Evancho and the Chicago Symphony Brass. His music can be heard on The Weather Channel, Sirius-XM "Spa," Music Choice "Soundscapes," and many other outlets, with several listener favorites reaching #1 on instrumental iTunes charts around the world. Stanton is also the founder of Music to Light the World, a non-profit organization with a vision to offer God's peace and rest in a hurried world. A program called Get Music Give Hope, where one album is donated for every album purchased, has led to over 50,000 CDs being donated to cancer centers and hospitals, offering hope and healing to patients.
