Overview
Cynthia Thornton is the CEO of a world-wide cosmetics company. At age 40, her 10 figure income provides her with luxury few people enjoy and she is entrenched in her New York City lifestyle. She manages a mega-company with 28,000 employees, yet she can’t manage her own life. Her world is small and the happiness she seeks continually eludes her. Nicholas Legitt is a best-selling, Pulitzer Prize winning author who lives in a small town in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. At heart, he is a mountain man. He and Cynthia meet at a fundraising event. Their friendship creeps along until it escalates into an off-again, on-again relationship that is rife with acrimony. Cindy has a very troublesome characteristic that makes sustaining a relationship impossible. Jill McDonald had lived her entire life in the same, small Colorado town as Nick. She and Nick had a torrid relationship that began in high school and continued for over four years. Her life moved on after the parted but she never lost the love she had for her high school sweetheart. Now that his relationship with Cynthia was behind him, Nick was free to pursue his former lover and they revived a love that never faded. The characters are as real as the people you know and they will become your friends. But a word of caution. Don't jump to conclusions. Things are not always as they seem. So how does the story end? Do they each find happiness in their own way? Does each one live happily ever after? The answers are in the story. Please note. 26 Hours is intended for mature readers. It contains adult language and adult themes that are secondary to the plot. The story is driven by its plot, not by its sexual content.
Description
26 Days , the first book in the Legitt series, is a contemporary love story that takes place in New York City and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The three characters are as diverse as the locales. Cynthia Thornton is the CEO of a world-wide cosmetics company. At age 40 her 10 figure income provides her with luxury few people enjoy and she is entrenched in her New York City lifestyle. He’s quite handsome and has the rugged look of someone who has spent the 42 years of his life living in the splendor of the Rockies. At heart, he is a mountain man. He and Cynthia meet at a fundraising event. They’re both personable and they get along well, especially for people meeting for the first time, but when Nick tries to get better acquainted, Cindy brushes him off, and for a good reason. She won’t allow Nick, or anyone else, to have even a glimpse of her private world. By a bizarre set of circumstances, they end up having a dinner date and their friendship creeps along until it escalates into an off-again, on-again relationship that is rife with acrimony. Cindy has a very troublesome characteristic that makes sustaining a relationship impossible. In spite of the strong feelings they have for each other, they end their relationship only to find their attraction to each other was so strong that they reunite. When they separate a second time, Cynthia knows she will never see Nick again. Jill McDonald is a successful restaurant owner who, like Nick, had lived her entire life in the same, small Colorado town. She and Nick had a torrid relationship that began in high school and continued for over four years. Jill broke it off when Nick continually refused to marry her. She knew he would never marry anyone. He wasn’t able to get beyond the skeleton in his past. Her life moved on but she never lost the love she had for her high school sweetheart. Now that his relationship with Cynthia was behind him, Nick was free to pursue his former lover and they revived a love that never faded and they enjoyed the love they shared more than ever before. The characters are as real as the people you know and their troubles, of which there are many, are as consuming as if they were your own. You will follow them through the trials and tribulations of their lives as they try to find love and contentment. You’ll laugh with them and cry with them: you’ll like them sometimes and be very angry with them at others. They’ll become as real to you as they did to the author when he created them. So how does the story end? Do they each find happiness in their own way? Does each one live happily ever after? The answers are in the story. Please note. 26 Hours is intended for mature readers. It contains adult language and adult themes. It’s important to know that the story is driven by its plot, not by its sexual content.
About the author
Michael Stafford grew up and spent most of his life in Colorado. The skills he developed writing everything from speeches to technical papers dur8ng his professional career serve him well in his new calling as a romance novelist. When people express surprise that a male is a romance novelist, he is quick to point out that the great love stories of all-time have been written by men dating back to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet; Erich Segal’s Love Store (number eight on the American Film Institute’s list of all-time romance stories and nominated for seven Academy Awards) and The Bridges of Madison County by Robert Waller (number one on the NY Times bestseller list for thirty-two weeks and on the list or three years.) So males do indeed write compelling romance novels People believe that for someone to write about romance they have to be a romantic themselves. It’s easy for Michael to write about the beauty of loving another person; he’s been married to his bride for more than thirty-five years. Their two children have blessed them with two grandchildren and they, along with their dog Nieko command much of his attention theses days, when he’s not sitting at the computer or standing a river fly fishing, that is 26 Days marks the beginning of his certain-to-be-well-read journey
